Well, the truth is, he didn't listen to them - he walked in, shouted "That horn is TOO SMALL!!!"
Everyone there kind of looked funny at him. After a moment or two, I replied, "Maybe so, but they sure SOUND good!", and everyone who had been there listening mumbled in agreement.
He then went off in a huff.
The deal is that both the II's AND the III's sound VERY good, and that, to me, is the criteria - natural sound reproduction without coloration and, most especially, listener fatigue.
The sad thing is Dr. Geddes was the one who recommended me to the AES's board as a potential speaker for their convention in New York City (which they accepted) in...was it REALLY way back in 1992?
